Feedback: Questions asked to the audience!
THE PROWLER
1) Did you like our film? If so then why?
2) Once the title sequence had ended were you gripped enough to see more?
3) Do you think the music suited our film?
4) Do you think our film would be successful on a larger scale?
We got mostly positive feedback and people said the fort our music was good however our editing could of been more tight and more cuts when within the house.

Skill Audit: Sound And Also Livetype!!
In our lesson we were introduced to two programs called - Soundtrack Pro and Livetype. These programs were vital for the editing of our thrillers, as we need to add music to create the moods and we also need to use livetype for our titles which we been looking at with our teacher to make our title sequences realistic.
Soundtrack Pro was the program that we used to compose and edit our music for our thrillers. The program featured in many music clips that varied from suspenseful to orchestra music, we eventually found tracks that suited our thriller which we later associated with our film. The music we choose was urban and hip hop because we was looking to create a young urban thriller similiar to adulthood. Soundtrack enabled us to create our own unique piece of music from scratch. The tutorial taught us how to:
stretch sound of the timeline
mix sounds
listen to a variety of sounds
explore sound genres
make a sound loud/quiet as moods change
Livetype was very useful as we need to add or title on to make our film look realistic we looked at many title sequences to see the order at which they put the cast, director and producer and so on. On of the title sequences i looked at from a real media productions was :
At first we see columbia pictures presents which is what we did however we used candimedia. After you got the producers and so. We wanted to make our movie as realistic as possible therefore we tried to mirror real media productions in our media productions. With sofware livetype we was able to put title in at any point in our movie we didnt use the most colourful or abtract font because we felt most media production keep the title simple which again we tried to mirror.

Evaluation: Question 6
In the process of making the title sequence to our thriller I have use new forms of different technologies.
First, I learnt the precautions & safety of using the a video camera and it's tripod, this was beneficial knowledge to us when we were making our film, as we where going to be panning ect and if we don't know to correctly do it we can damage equitment.
Secondly, I had to use LiveType so that we were able to give our work titles which is the main goal of this project (entering text into our title sequence for our thriller).
Next, Final Cut Pro was used for the main editing aspects of our film because we were able to cut in and between clips and edit clips in general also I have learnt a great deal in this project.
The internet and it's software e.g. google, The art of the title sequence and blogger were needed when making our thriller. Google is the main source for where we found out information and blogger is where we uploaded our own information about our thrillers title sequence.
For the sound effects created and used were used by a software package called Soundtrack Pro, this was used very well I feel when we were trying to create suspense and atmosphere in the thriller.

Open Title Sequence Ideas:
After coming up with many ideas for a possible opening title sequence, some conventional to the 'typical' thriller and others we saw as more of a challenge to the 'typical' thriller. Our general idea to begin with that we believed to be 'typical' was a male following a female through the streets.
We wanted to elaborate this idea as we know, from watching other thriller movies, it works well in capturing an audience within suspense. After the suggestion of many possible ideas we finally came up with the following outline for our sequence and soon after began to storyboard and choose possible locations for shooting. In our opening title sequence we will see a conspicuous man standing againt a wall watching a girl go past giving the idea he has choosen his target (victim). He then follow her into her house where he get into the position then attacks the girl surprising her.
We also wanted to created a sense of two people invovled therefore we used hand held camera movemen to suggest this. Its was hard but i think we did rather well.

Q2 EVALUATION-How Does Your Media Product Reflect Differant social stereotypes?
I think my media product shows a few stereotype such as the girl begin the victim however its not alwasy like that as new movie the orphan isn't the same. Also the idea that the girl being followed by the man then becomes attacked by him ect, this is very cliched however we got the idea from a movie called the halloween where the character micheal myers haunts his victims but creating noises ect. Which is what we tried to do boy the boy leaving the open the girl notices the doors open and becomes scared also very cliched.
Here as small clip of micheal myers in action giving you the idea of what we tried to create in our title sequence:
A Small montage of clips of the halloween film!

Evaluation; Q1 In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of a real media product?
To gain knowledge and understanding the forms and conventions of an opening title sequence we were required to watch a number of thriller movies for example i watched:
I The Beginning i wanted to create a psychological thriller i felt "se7en" title sequence was powerful and even without knowledge of the film you can guess the type of genre it was going to be which is wht i wanted to do.
Also took a look at:
I felt these shot where amazing and you could really see the whole of the city which the film was filmed in. To demonstrate our knowledge of the forms and conventions, whilst planning our sequence, we made an effort to include as many as we could and as many would fit our title sequence to help illustrate what we wanted illustrate. We compared our title sequence to the opening title sequence of "The Heat" to highlight the conventions we used. Reason being is because the heat editing was what we tried to do quick cut to keep the audience interested and satisfied. I Compared parts of my sequence to my favourite scene in the heat movie has we used forms and conventions identical to The heat.
In the beginning of our we choose "candimedia" as our convention institutional ident because it cost cheap and we have a low budget therefore using this would be appropiate. We made our convetional idents show during the movie as other movies either fade them out or on a black screen for example, panic rooms has to human movement jus long shot oflocations showing us there titles which i felt looked good however would be more effective if they used our methods of combining acting and title together.
Our location also played a vital part in the opening of our title as sequence as we see an outside area then it shifts into a household. Sadly because of our low budget and not able to go in higher place we couldn't get good location shot like the panic room as the used ariel shot prbaly within a helicopter.
Lastly the use of sound was very effective,. Our soundtrack we created was fast and very hip hop as in the beginning we used hip pop beat to start of the movie it then slows down into a more eerie sound which was good for our thriller, i think this challenges alot of thriller that are a real media product as they don't usually combine eerie sounds with hip pop ub beat sounds which i think we did very well and was a success.

Evaluation Question 7) Looking back at your preliminary task, what do you feel you have learned in the progression from it yo the full product?
In our media project we started looking at professional thriller title sequences, then we had preliminary tasks to carry out and after that we finally did our final task (the thriller). In comparison to our preliminary exercise our final title sequence was much better by the shots used, planning, sound, mis en scene and editing.
Our preliminary and final videos are her below:
Q5 EVALUATION- Who Would Be The Audience For Your media Product?
Our target audience would be young teenagers and young adults as we think if this film was to publish it wouldn't be the type of movie shown suitable for younger children. I felt that we needed to have an audience around 15 and over as after these particular ages people have reached a level of maturity therefore i felt that Our film "The Prowler" best suited this age range. Another reason why we felt that 15 and over would best ve suitable for our movie is for marketing reason. If we put it any less legal parents must company a child if there watching a under 15 film as the certificate below is 12A implying if we c ertified our movei for 12A and over it prablay wouldn't get many view has 15 year old don't want to watch a movie for younger children seems more boring and parent wouldn.t want to accompany their children to a movie with voilenc within it therefore our chosen age work best for everybody.
Cameras and health and safety tutorial
In this tutorial we were taught how to use the camera as well as the precautions we need to take while using the camera. We were shown how the camera works, what buttons we need to use while filming to get the best possible results. We were shown how to use the tripod and how to place the camera safely on the tripod. We were shown how to focus the camera, where the slot is for the memory card.
While we was in this lesson we learnt rules we have to stick to when filming our opening title sequence for our thrillers such as if it rains we should take umbrellas to cover the camera because if the camera was to get wet it would break and we would not be able to film. when we film we should not touch the lens otherwise you could get fingerprints on the lens which means it will ruin the quality of our film as fingerprints will be over the screen and also finally we should close the lens we are finished and make sure it is turned off otherwise the battery will run out.
There were many safety precautions we were told to take. One was to make sure we don't put our hands or the fingers on the camera lens because it would affect the quality of the filming. Another one was to make sure the camera was placed on the tripod properly as it might fall off. We were also told to open up the tripod properly because if it was not open properly then it might be unbalanced and unsecure.

Camera Tutorial
During this tutorial, we was introduced to the camera's and equiptment we will be working with in order to produce our thriller clips. We were firstly shown and told what each part of the camera was called. We were then showed how to insert our memory cards, how to zoom the camera, get the lense into focus ect.We then were then told the safety regulations for the equpitment, which were:
- Making sure all bolts were tightened properly on the tripod before inserting the camera onto it
- Making sure the camera was secure on top of the tripod before letting go.
- Carry the equiptment responsibly.

Evaluation: Question 3 & 4
I think media institutions such as YouTube, Sky Digital and Social media institutions such as blogging will definitely distribute my product i think because it has a mass audience and the concept of the title sequence is basic but rather interesting.
To Attract audience i post my film on social networks such as facebook and myspace:

Our title sequence was trying to attract young teenagers and young adults giving the age rang around 15 and over, in order to attract our target audience i would use social network chat rooms like:

Pitch

This is our pitch for our media film. This was our initial idea for the film and it was taken from an idea that Feelando previously had about what kind of film our group would try and make. Also when making our pitch originally it was in a powerpoint presentation format that would not play as a video, so we had to alter its format options into making a couple of images from the clip so that we could upload it onto our blog. The film is called "The prowler".
I hope that you enjoy the clips images.

First Day Filming!
On our first day filming we manage to get all our shots. Its was rather hard as we had to get alot of match cutting shot in order to make our filming look polished and good for a in house environment. We Filmed at my house and outside it.
Location Shots For Our Title Sequence
Abbie: We decided our title sequence was going to be mainly located in a house, although there are some outside shots, most of the shots are in the house. Because our sequence is about a stalker sneaking in to a victims home, the shots alone are not that thrilling, so we thought by adding suspenseful music, it would really bring the thrill in the sequence.
Feelando: We use different locations in the house, such as the kitchen, living area, but the place that creates the most suspense, is the stairs- as you don't know what or who is beyond them.
Our location fitted our sequence perfectly as we could get birds-eye-view from the outside and there was enough space to do all our shots.

The Pitch!
In our previous lesson we had to come up with totally original idea to share with our class which was what our title sequence will be about. The whole point of the lesson was to "sell" our ideas like actual movie writers would do in front of directers in order to get their movie made. It was called Pitching, however in our case "The Pitch". Our was to create a sense of someone being followed into her house, in addidtion try to create a idea of someone is already in her house using point of view shots.
